課程概述 |
Course Description
This course is for students who wish to develop their critical skills by reading what are often neglected texts in academic screen studies. Full-length screenplays will be analyzed each week in order to understand the complex nature of the screenplay in terms of story, character, plot, psychological and emotional depth, micro and macro structure, dynamic and arcs within specific historical and cultural contexts.

Course Objectives
Students will be able to contribute to an area of screen studies that has hitherto not received the attention it deserves. Students will become familiar with a wide range of screenplays and emerge as competent readers of screenplays for industry.

Requirements: Full participation is expected throughout the semester. Set texts must be read in advance of class and e-mails circulated to group members to facilitate in-depth discussion during the class session.
